Client expenses funding is discretionary financial support available to support a child placed in statutory home-based care with a foster or kinship care.

If other funding sources are not available, client expenses funding can be used to:

• support the safety, developmental, material and wellbeing needs of children involved with the Child Protection Program
• support the child's family access requirements
• provide support for specific items/services where client expenses exceed what the care allowances would reasonably contribute to, due to high level of support needed or significant additional expenses required to support the child.
